Immersion - dance

lately for immersion I have been doing dance and drama. For the first 10-20 minutes of our session we had to write what we thought drama and dance is I thought that dance was a way of showing your feelings. Once we jotted down our ideas we walked down to the gym to learn more about dance and drama Sarah showed us a few videos of different types of dances like ballet hip hop and other dances. After that we got given poems about friendship and we had to bring the poem to life. I found it hard because I don't really like standing up in front of a large crowd and performing but I think I did well because I didn't hold back. We also did freeze frames on friendship we got into groups of 3 or 4 our group idea was that we were all running and I tripped over and the others laughed at me the purpose of this immersion was to be confident and to learn more about dance incase you wanted to do it for your project. In this immersion I learned lots about dance and the meaning behind dance and drama. I learned that dance can be a way to express your feelings and stand up for what you believe. One of the things I enjoyed was making up freeze frames because I was confident and I got into it and particapated.

Immersion- design

As the days pass we move on to our next session for immersion our topic was designing a new playground for our school. For our first session we walked down to the park and sketched and listed ideas of what we would want to have for our school one of my ideas was to have swings. For our next session we surveyed learning common 1 and 2 to get ideas of what they would like to have in a playground we used a tally chart to collect all the data. When we drew out the tally chart we turned the information into a bar graph to show what is popular and what isn't popular. Once we knew what things people liked we designed our dream playground and got constructive feedback to others. One of the things I really enjoyed was designing our dream playground I also really enjoyed surveying the younger kids. My challenge was coming up with ideas for my dream playground but once I got ideas I found it easier.
