stain removal- immersion

Today for immersion we were trying to use different substance like (lemons, vinegar and different types of detergents.) To remove grass stains, mud stains, and food colouring stains. We got into groups of four and decided on what stain we are going to have. And what things we are going to use to clean it with. We chose to use food colouring for the stain and lemons, detergent and vinegar to remove the stains. Before we tested them out we all wrote a hypothesis, my hypothesis is that vinegar will work the best. Then we tested them out. We cut out three small pieces of fabric. And squeezed four drops of food colouring on the piece of fabric. And smeared the detergent on the fabric and ran it under the tap. and it ended up working. There were only a few small stains that you could hardly see. Then we tested the vinegar and it worked again. There were only a few stains. Then we tested out the lemon and it was the same but a few more stains. Still appeared on the piece of fabric. My hypothesis was wrong turns out detergent works the best and vinegar was the second best.
